We are seeking an Emergency Management Critical Infrastructure/Key Resources (CIKR) Coordinator to join the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RI-EMA). This role involves high-level analytical and planning work within the Operations Support Branch to develop state and local emergency plans for preparedness, response, recovery, and hazard mitigation. You will exercise independent judgment in organizing branch activities and coordinating strategic mission assurance policies.
Location: Providence, RI
Pay Rate: $40.00/hr
Duration: 1 Year+ (Staff Augmentation)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
Responsibilities- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide guidance on policy, threat, and vulnerability issues related to Rhode Island Critical Infrastructure Protection.
- Strategic Planning: Formulate risk management methodologies and execute risk mitigation and remediation research.
- Inter-Agency Coordination: Coordinate projects and negotiate programs with FEMA and local government partners.
- Risk Assessment: Utilize the National Infrastructure Protection Plan and NIST Framework to assess risk and implement physical security protection policies.
- Threat Reduction: Identify and implement measures including cyber security, structural reviews, and business continuity planning.
- Emergency Operations: Participate in major preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation operations for the State.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Fire and Life Safety, or a related field (e.g., Risk Management).
- Experience: Considerable professional experience in emergency management within a private, local, state, or federal agency.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of analyzing, developing, and implementing critical infrastructure security policies.
- Communication: Ability to prepare concise written proposals and represent the state in meetings with the public, media, and government bodies.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
- Must obtain and maintain a PCII (Protective Critical Infrastructure Information) clearance.
- FEMA
Certifications:
Within 6 months of appointment, must complete ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800, as well as the FEMA Professional Development Series.
