Job Description
The Campus Police Department at Rhode Island College is seeking a full-time Campus Police Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a full range of tasks involved in the protection, safety, and security of individuals and property on campus.
Responsibilities include patrolling the campus on foot, bicycle, and/or in marked police cruisers; inspecting campus buildings and grounds; guarding against fire, theft, damage, defacement, and/or destruction; maintaining order and security on institution premises; identifying and apprehending criminal offenders; providing emergency medical services; and performing all required duties in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and ordinances.
The ideal candidate will have prior employment as a POST-certified police officer, a high school diploma or GED, and successful completion of a Rhode Island Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified Police Training Academy curriculum. Additional requirements include a valid Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification, physical qualification to perform assigned duties, and a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Qualifications- Possession of a high school diploma or GED
