Job Title:

Civil Engineer – Project Manager

GZA Geo Environmental is seeking a Civil Engineer – Project Manager with 7+ years of experience to join our Civil Engineering Team in Providence, RI.

Responsibilities:

• Site layout and civil design for electrical, gas infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Planning and design support for stormwater management systems.
• Conducting or reviewing civil, hydrologic and hydraulic engineering technical analyses and calculations.
• Developing permit‑level site plans, stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, SWPPPs, and stormwater drainage reports.
• Preparing design drawings and technical specifications.
• Providing technical input for permit application packages.
• Communicating effectively with clients and team members.
• Preparing reports with principal guidance and review.
• Developing health and safety plans and managing implementation and compliance with GZA Health and Safety programs during on‑site activities.
• Project management duties including coordination of project teams, preparation of budgets and schedules.

Requirements:

• RI Professional Engineer’s license or ability to obtain within 6‑12 months (out‑of‑state PEs with ability to transfer to RI will be considered).
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Highly motivated self‑starter with a professional attitude and ability to work well with other professionals and contractors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to prepare clear and concise letters, memoranda, technical reports, and figures.
• Experience in site development, grading, stormwater design, erosion & sediment control.
• Responsive attitude when interacting with staff, peers, management, and clients.
• OSHA 10‑hour Construction and OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER trainings are a plus.
