Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site investigations to identify physical and environmental risks, performing field studies including airborne chemical monitoring, noise monitoring, and indoor air quality assessments. Self‑motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Support regional growth throughout New England and national clients, developing comprehensive sampling strategies, outlining required analyses, researching regulatory standards and hazard data to ensure compliance and safety. Assist leaders in developing templates and practice guidance for all Terracon industrial hygiene practitioners.
- Evaluate sampling results, prepare detailed risk assessment reports, and develop actionable recommendations to improve environmental conditions. Present findings and recommendations to clients, showcasing expertise and communication skills.
- Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring adherence to safety rules and guidelines. Create and model a safe work environment, promoting pre‑task planning for all projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a fundamental part of this role.
- Drive continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, upholding and promoting high‑quality standards in all project and proposal deliveries.
- Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff, fostering growth and development.
- Participate in the development of marketing strategies and present qualifications to clients, enhancing our company's reputation and client relationships. Client markets include commercial, transportation, healthcare, energy, and federal projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related science field.
- Minimum 8–11 years' experience.
- Master's degree or PhD preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Ability to become a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- EPA Certified Lead‑Based Paint Inspector and Risk Assessor
Minimum $102,200 – Maximum $158,400. Minimum may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final compensation based on individual qualifications and experience.
