The Opportunity: We are seeking a passionate, highly skilled ELA Teacher. This teacher should be growth-mindset-oriented and is committed to facilitating meaningful, collaborative, high rigor tasks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a student‑centered, achievement‑oriented classroom culture.
  • Use data to design engaging projects with a focus on literacy and reading achievement.
  • Demonstrate strong instructional practices and classroom management.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and families.
  • Collaborate in designing interdisciplinary curriculum.
  • Mentor a small cohort of students through advisory.
  • Participate fully in staff meetings, PD, and community‑building activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Rhode Island teaching certification or eligibility for an Expert Residency or Emergency Certificate.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach across disciplines, especially with literacy integration.
  • Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching.
