The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Brown University in the search for a Director of Development for Academic Initiatives–Diversity and Inclusion
.

The Director of Development will serve as the Advancement liaison to the administrative and faculty leadership for the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity. This role involves sponsoring programs and events related to diversity and inclusion. The Director will manage an individual portfolio of approximately 65 to 75 major gift prospects and donors capable of making gifts of $100,000 or more to the university.

They will also play a key role in the Brown Together campaign, which has raised $1.79 billion as of September 5, 2018, surpassing the campaign's midpoint and aiming to exceed $2 billion this fiscal year, with a goal of $3 billion by 2022.

The responsibilities include managing high-level alumni, parents, and friends relationships, including qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The role emphasizes developing solicitation strategies and closing major and principal gifts aligned with the university's fundraising priorities, measured against individual annual fundraising goals.

The Director will collaborate with OIED and other departments involved in diversity and inclusion to support strategic fundraising efforts. Specific duties include engaging prospective and current donors, coordinating involvement in campus and off-campus events, and preparing reports and materials to support fundraising efforts and provide data to university leadership regarding diversity and inclusion fundraising.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and six to ten years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Fundraising experience is essential. Familiarity with Brown University is highly desirable. All applications must include a cover letter and résumé.
