OverviewThe Assistant Director of Career and Life Design (CLD) is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating programs that strengthen alumni career and life design engagement and support around shared life experiences, interests, and aspirations.
Responsibilities- Design, deliver, and evaluate programs that strengthen alumni career and life design engagement and support.
- Advance Brown’s vision for Career and Life Design, fostering authentic connection, mutual learning, and community across generations.
- Collaborate with the Alumni Community & Belonging team and others across the University to ensure initiatives reflect diversity and inclusion principles.
- Build lasting relationships between alumni and students through career programming, life design initiatives, and mentorship programs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field such as development, career services, program management, alumni engagement, and/or advising.
- Community‑building experience.
- Experience in higher education or a nonprofit setting.
- Knowledge of Brown University values.
- Supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience and success in strategy development, project coordination, and event planning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interactive with senior administration and high‑profile alumni.
- Strong relationship builder, diplomatic, experienced in designing and implementing complex plans.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google suite, web and email technology, databases.
- Ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong project management and problem‑solving skills.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends;
Memorial Day Weekend may be required. - High level of integrity, tact, and discretion to handle confidential donor/prospect information.
