Provide expert lactation care in accordance with ILCA Standards of Practice, serve as an informant and coach to clinical staff, and participate in program development within a family‑centered maternity care model.
What You Will Do In This Role- Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
- Conduct orientation sessions that foster a positive learning environment and incorporate organizational values.
- Identify learning needs, assess practice gaps, and plan educational content that engages learners.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Education Market Director to review outcomes data and refine workforce development activities.
- Apply adult educational theory and evaluation methodologies (e.g., Kirkpatrick) to courses and curricula.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (preferred).
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing. If RN and hired after 6/1/12, a BSN is required within 24 months of hire.
- Continuing education in lactation and breastfeeding required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in maternal‑child health nursing in an acute‑care setting (preferred).
- Experience with breastfeeding management required.
- Current RN license in Texas or a compact license (preferred).
- IBCLC certification required.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) provider.
- National Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 3 months of hire.
