Primary
Purpose:
The Instructional Coach provides targeted instructional coaching and support to teachers and collaborative teams in the implementation of effective instructional practices and continuous improvement efforts. The instructional coach applies effective coaching practice to build teacher capacity through job-embedded professional learning. The instructional coach positively impacts the overall quality of classroom instruction thereby impacting student growth and achievement.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate in assigned content area
Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Extensive expertise in content-area instruction and backward design curriculum approach
- Strong understanding of instructional coaching models and partnership principles
- Ability to work within and provide support to Professional Learning Communities
- Experience applying adult learning theory and effective professional learning practices
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with data analysis and using data to inform instructional decisions
Experience:
Three or more years of classroom experience is required
Five or more years of classroom experience in teaching is preferred

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Frequent district wide travel; occasional statewide travel
