Do you want to have an impact on healthy development, safety, well‑being, and self‑sufficiency of Vermonters? Then the Grants and Contracts Unit of the Department for Children and Families may be just the place for you!
We are looking for a new member to join our close‑knit team based out of the Waterbury State Office Complex. While this position is based in Waterbury, there is the opportunity for a hybrid (in office/remote) schedule; some travel, mostly in state, may be required.
The DCF Grants and Contracts Unit comprises twenty‑one staff working closely with internal and external partners to support DCF's initiatives. This position should have an understanding of the life cycle of an agreement, which may include a grant, contract, memorandum of understanding, and statement of work, for example. It is anticipated that this position will have a primary focus on supporting agreement drafting, monitoring, and/or compliance efforts across the Department.
Great attention to detail, an understanding of financial reconciliation and budgeting, strength‑based customer service, excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability to work independently and juggle competing demands, flexibility, and a willingness to learn are some key qualifications for this position. Experience with and/or working knowledge of Uniform Guidance, the Agency of Administration's Bulletins 3.5 and 5, quality control and assurance, audits, agreement drafting or development of detailed scopes of work, and programs and services of the Department for Children and Families a plus!
