This position oversees all activities related to the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate records of amounts owed, verifying invoices, and managing vendor relationships. The role also includes supervising staff, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and maintaining strong internal controls throughout the accounts payable process.

- Schedules, assigns, and monitors daily accounts payable tasks within Tribal Operations.
- Reconciles accounts payable to related general ledger accounts.
- Assists with reconciliation of vendor ledgers to the accounts payable vendor ledger.
- Ensures proper filing, retention, and storage of all accounts payable records.
- Establishes and enforces guidelines for accurate coding of invoices to the general ledger.
- Maintains information for positive pay features within online banking systems and ensures the bank has an approved vendor payment list.
- Reviews and approves daily batch edits and posts weekly to the general ledger.
- Collaborates with Purchasing to establish vendor accounts and discount terms, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and recommendations.
- Performs research and inquiries on canceled checks as needed.
Partners with Purchasing to prepare and validate vendor 1099s, ensuring timely and accurate completion and distribution. - Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, and develops team members; completes performance appraisals for direct reports.
- Combination of post‑secondary education and relevant experience totaling six (6) years in business, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in accounts payable.
- Experience leading accounting teams.
- Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Experience working in a computerized accounting and accounts payable environment.
- Basic proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
