X aims to build a world class computational drug discovery platform by merging physics-based and statistical modeling, while fully utilizing an industry-leading high-performance computing resource. With a team of highly accomplished drug hunters, empowered and tightly integrated by the platform, we strive to discover breakthrough medicines.

We are seeking a talented and motivated senior medicinal chemist to join our team with the following responsibilities:

• Lead drug discovery programs in effective collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
• Leverage state-of-the-art computation-aided drug design techniques, in close collaboration with our modeling colleagues, to deliver high quality clinical candidates
• Interact closely with our scientific developers to assist in the creation of novel computational and machine learning methods in the buildup of our computational platform
• Manage CRO scientists to ensure timely delivery of high-quality compounds to support SAR development
• Contribute to drug discovery target selection by thoroughly reviewing the competitive landscape and formulating execution and differentiation strategy
• Work with Legal/Patent Counsel to develop and execute an intellectual property strategy, contributing to the drafting and prosecution of patent applications.

• A PhD in Organic Chemistry or related fields, with a minimum of 8+ years (for director level) or 12+ years (senior director) of experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotech company
• Experience in structure-based drug design (SBDD)
• Proven track record in small molecule drug discovery
• Extensive knowledge of key Medicinal Chemistry concepts and excellent understanding of biology, pharmacology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics
• Demonstrated strategic leadership, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Excellent presentation and communication skills

$,000/year with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
