EVENT CATERING WAIT STAFF (PART TIME) – Restaurant Associates

• Location:
  
  Prospect House Princeton University – 1 Washington Street, Princeton, NJ 08544 (online applications only).
• Schedule:
  
  Part‑time, days and hours vary; evening and weekend shifts required.
• Pay: $19.43 per hour.
• Experience:
  
  Prior serving experience preferred.

• Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to the scheduled locations.
• Arrange tables and decorations.
• Set buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to pre‑established standards.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Clean and pack dishes and utensils.
• Return un‑served foods, beverages, and serving equipment to the commissary.
• Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively according to pre‑established standards.
• Handle food items appropriately during preparation.
• Serve food neatly and attractively according to pre‑established standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Cleave workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Assist with food and table prep before events begin.
• Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs.
• Serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages; open wine and take drink orders.
• Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage, and other close‑out tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must meet any applicable state and local health requirements for food handlers.

• Use medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer.
• Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables.
• Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
