This non‑sales field‑based marketing position reports directly to the Senior Director, Ophthalmology Strategic Development & Advocacy within the Commercial Rare Disease Team. It offers an exciting opportunity to expand our presence in the retina, ophthalmology and eye‑care space.

Job Summary

The Associate Director/Director (SD&A) is pivotal in driving advocacy and support for ANI Rare Disease’s ophthalmology product portfolio. Responsibilities include proactively engaging thought leaders, forging partnerships with advocacy organizations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather insights on disease areas and treatment landscapes, thereby informing marketing strategy. The role also collaborates with Marketing Lead for Commercial Advisory Boards, supports Speaker Programs, and manages relationships with speakers, sponsor ships, and patient advocacy organizations.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement corporate‑objective‑based thought‑leader engagement plans to identify and gather insights from current and emerging thought leaders.
  • Track thought‑leader insights that impact the brand and provide feedback to identify market gaps and opportunities for commercial and marketing strategy.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and thought leaders, representing ANI brand interests.
  • Ensure alignment with the vision and strategic imperatives set by the brand team.
  • Manage regional and national conventions, congresses, and commercial advisory boards supporting marketing initiatives.
  • Identify, coordinate, and contract appropriate thought leaders for consulting opportunities such as advisory boards and training.
  • Coordinate with sponsor ships and patient advocacy organizations for enterprise‑wide alignment of activities.
  • Support the development and execution of Speaker Bureau working with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality speaker programs.
  • Operate in accordance with ANI’s code of conduct and all policies, maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and compliance.

Education / Experience / Qualifications
  • 10+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry in a high‑science therapeutic area within the rare disease market.
  • 5+ years of retina/ophthalmology therapeutic area expertise required.
  • Director‑level candidates considered with a minimum of 2+ years of retina/ophthalmology experience if accompanied by an equivalent field‑marketing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
