VP Controller

We're currently partnered closely with a clinical-stage biotech looking for a VP Corporate Controller to join their growing team. The company has recently had positive interim results and really looking to scale the company in 2026. In this role you will oversee and actively drive the day-to-day accounting function. This role is not limited to directing others; it combines strategy and execution through a hands‑on approach.

You will manage month‑end and year‑end close, prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations, lead audits, and implement scalable systems - all while ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Looking for somebody who's able to run the books, meet deadlines, knows GAAP, comfortable to interact with the CFO and also be able to be a good manager.

• A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years controller-level or equivalent experience, and a proven track record in leadership decision making, scaling and change management.
• Experience leading ERP or financial system implementations and training teams for adoption.
• Deep technical GAAP expertise.
• SEC Reporting experience.
• Possesses strategic and analytical skills with the ability to translate strategic goals into specific.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and align with all levels of the organization.
• Somebody who's able to run the books, meet deadlines, knows GAAP, is able and comfortable to interact up with the CFO and also be able to be a good manager.
• Life science experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
