* Job Description - Audio Visual Technician will support the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and Psychology Department
Length of Engagement: 3 months, possibility of extension and/or perm employment

Job Summary:

The A/V Support Specialist ensures meeting room technology is functioning properly across two departments. This role performs routine room checks, responds to urgent A/V issues submitted through a hotline number or email, and supports departmental events by assisting with presentation setups and live troubleshooting. The position will also support Class Day, held annually on Memorial Day.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct regular walkthroughs of departmental meeting rooms to confirm A/V functionality.

* Troubleshoot and support equipment including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and conferencing systems.

* Respond to emergency support requests via hotline phone number and email.

* Assist staff and presenters with event and presentation setups.

* Provide onsite support for departmental events, including Class Day (Memorial Day).

* Track issues and communicate equipment needs or recurring problems to leadership.

Qualifications:

* 1-3 years of A/V, IT support, or event technology experience preferred.

* Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other conferencing platforms.

* Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.

* Excellent customer service and communication skills.

* Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends based on event schedules.

Huge Plus:

* Experience with Research / Lab devices in any vertical (Higher Ed research, Pharmaceutical research, etc.). Example: there are many data intensive research observations with electron microscopes connected to systems - throughput networking requirements, troubleshooting performance issues, etc.

* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
