Job Summary
The A/V Support Specialist ensures meeting room technology is functioning properly across two departments. This role performs routine room checks, responds to urgent A/V issues submitted through a hotline number or email, and supports departmental events by assisting with presentation setups and live troubleshooting. The position will also support Class Day, held annually on Memorial Day.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular walkthroughs of departmental meeting rooms to confirm A/V functionality.
- Troubleshoot and support equipment including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and conferencing systems.
- Respond to emergency support requests via hotline phone number and email.
- Assist staff and presenters with event and presentation setups.
- Provide onsite support for departmental events, including Class Day (Memorial Day).
- Track issues and communicate equipment needs or recurring problems to leadership.
- 1-3 years of A/V, IT support, or event technology experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other conferencing platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends based on event schedules.
- Experience with Research / Lab devices in any vertical (Higher Ed research, Pharmaceutical research, etc.). Example: many data‑intensive research observations with electron microscopes connected to systems—throughput networking requirements, troubleshooting performance issues, etc.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
