Job Description (JD) Staff Consultant – AI/ML & Knowledge Modeling (Clinical Protocol Digitization)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML & Knowledge Modeling Consultant to support clinical protocol digitization initiatives through advanced automation, knowledge modeling, and standards-driven data transformation. The role focuses on enabling structured, machine-readable clinical protocol data, automated validation, and intelligent workflow enablement.

The consultant will work closely with domain experts, data architects, and application teams to design and implement intelligent solutions for protocol automation and interoperability across clinical platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement human-in-the-loop automation frameworks.
  • Design and manage ontology navigation and graph modeling solutions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge graphs and study structure models.
  • Implement USDM integration and mapping strategies.
  • Configure and manage CDISC standards mapping.
  • Lead schema digitization for protocol elements.
  • Model inclusion and exclusion criteria into structured data formats.
  • Implement automated validation rules for protocol consistency and compliance.
  • Enable generation and transformation of USDM JSON outputs.
  • Develop automated validation workflows for study configurations.
  • Implement automated data conversion pipelines.
  • Support study metadata extraction and transformation processes.
  • Support Schedule of Assessments (eSOA) digitization workflows.
  • Implement protocol automation capabilities supporting downstream systems.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience in AI/ML-enabled automation solutions.
  • Experience with knowledge graph and ontology modeling.
  • Understanding of clinical study data standards such as USDM and CDISC.
  • Experience in data transformation and validation pipeline implementation.
  • Ability to model complex clinical workflows and study metadata.
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured healthcare or life sciences data.
  • 6–12 years of experience in AI/ML, data modeling, or clinical data engineering roles.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills.
  • Cross-functional collaboration capability.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in clinical trial platforms or protocol digitization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of semantic web technologies or graph databases.
  • Experience with automated workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards.
