Business Analyst; Energy & Utilities

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support large-scale information technology initiatives for a client in the Energy & Utilities sector. This role serves as a critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are accurately translated into effective technology solutions. The position offers a challenging, fast-paced environment with opportunities for professional growth.

This is a temporary, 6-month assignment with the possibility of extension, supporting programs based in New Jersey
. Candidates must be local and able to work onsite three days per week
.

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and user stories
• Write clear, well-structured business requirements and functional documentation
• Analyze and map business processes to identify gaps and optimization opportunities
• Collaborate closely with IT teams to design and implement technology solutions aligned with business objectives
• Work with cross-functional teams on time-sensitive energy data analysis to summarize business goals, initiatives, and customer performance
• Ensure alignment of solutions with multiple stakeholders across business and technical teams
• Support project delivery through participation in testing, validation, and solution verification activities

• Proven experience in Business Analysis or Functional Analysis within the Energy & Utilities industry
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to translate complex raw data into meaningful summaries
• Hands-on experience with Data Analytics
  , SQL
  , MS Access
  , and Power BI
• Proficiency with business analysis techniques and tools such as UML or BPMN
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
• Knowledge of Energy & Utilities IT systems

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  , Data Analytics
  , or a related field
• 4+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in the Energy & Utilities domain
