This position plays a critical role in the development and execution of BMS' global & US medical strategy within the Thoracic/H&N portfolio. The Global Medical Oncology IO Thoracic/H&N Medical Lead is a strategic leader with a broad scope of responsibilities across the Global Medical organization, leading a team to drive a cross-functional matrix to deliver the global and US medical plan for assets in scope.

The successful candidate will oversee the development of aligned medical strategies and core medical deliverables, including Integrated Evidence Plans, Scientific Narratives and External Engagement and Advocacy plans, and will be a core member of the Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team. They will oversee a team covering nivolumab and ipilimumab in thoracic and H&N cancers, including executing post-launch and lifecycle management activities.

The lead should navigate complex issues across a broad cross-functional matrix to ensure optimal medical affairs strategy is developed and executed.

• Develop and execute the global & US Medical Affairs strategy for key assets.
• Act as the core medical representative for Global & US cross-functional teams.
• Manage a team of US and/or Global Medical Leads to execute the assigned book of work.
• Lead cross-functional matrix teams within the overall Asset/Indication Medical Strategy (AIMS) team.
• Ensure assets are well positioned within the BMS disease area strategy.
• Participate in leadership activities to drive business priorities.
• Develop and execute WW & US medical strategy, scientific narratives, and provide actionable medical insights.
• Lead work streams to manage existing Medical Evidence Generation activities, and assess/develop concepts in line with Integrated Evidence Plans as necessary.
• Deliver Global & US Medical Communications plans, including publications and symposia.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external opinion leaders across congresses globally and within the US to inform and drive product strategy within tumor areas.
• Partner with colleagues in various departments to ensure proper communication of pipeline products and marketed medicines.

• Life sciences and/or healthcare professional training with an advanced degree is required (MD, Pharm
  
  D, PhD).
• Minimum of 7+ years working in the pharmaceutical industry (Medical Affairs/Medical Strategy, Clinical Research) with experience in the thoracic cancer therapeutic area is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, scientific data interpretation and contextualization; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including clinical, commercialization, regulatory, HEOR and Access.
• Excellent strategy development, critical thinking, decision making and ability to create and implement short- and long-range plans.
• Entrepreneurial thinking; anticipates needs and manages business and organizational risks.
• Highly organized with excellent people management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• HQ based position with international/domestic travel requirement approximately 20%.

Princeton - NJ - US $229,380 - $277,956. The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
