The Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute at Princeton University invites applications for new faculty positions in the area of Bioengineering, at the Associate or Full Professor rank.

We welcome applications from all areas of experimental and theoretical/computational bioengineering, including device bioengineering such as novel materials, algorithms, electric and magnetic fields, ultrasound, optics, targeted radiation, microfluidics, controlled force sensing, actuation, and related tools for probing and controlling biomolecular systems, cells, and tissues. We also encourage candidates working in computational bioengineering, such as synthetic and chemical biology approaches to cellular computation, biomolecular logic design, novel algorithms, and machine learning for parsing biological datasets (genomics, proteomics, imaging, neuroscience) at the interface of computer/data science and the life sciences.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Quantitative Biology or related disciplines and have a demonstrated record of excellence and leadership in research, commensurate with career stage. We seek faculty members who will be instrumental to creating an ecosystem of excellence, with a commitment to teaching and service in our growing community.

Princeton recently announced the launch of the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute, including a new Bioengineering PhD. Program. The institute brings together a strong group of faculty engaged in Bioengineering-related research across engineering departments, biology units, and interdisciplinary institutes. Faculty hired into the Institute may be jointly appointed with another home department or institute, determined through the application review process.

We seek creative and enthusiastic candidates who can build upon and complement existing strengths and help expand Princeton’s Bioengineering program into new and exciting research areas.

Expected Salary Range:
Associate Professor: $164,000–$184,000;
Full Professor: $197,000–$284,000

The University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, work experience, education/training, key skills, market, collective bargaining agreements, and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The posted salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate for a full‑time position; salaries for part‑time positions are pro‑rated accordingly.
