Overview
The Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance (JRCPPF) at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs seeks candidates for a postdoctoral research associate, or more senior research position, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2026. The primary criteria are the quality of the applicant’s research on the linkages between finance and macroeconomics broadly. The candidate’s work may use empirical or theoretical methods to address important policy questions.
The position offers an outstanding opportunity for independent research, as well as collaboration with Princeton faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students. There are no teaching obligations. Postdoctoral Research or more senior research associates are expected to participate actively in the intellectual activities of Princeton University.
Applicants must have received a Ph.D., preferably within the last 2 years (or expected by September 2026). The term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for one year, with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. Those hired at more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments. The position is in-person and on-campus at Princeton University.
Responsibilitiesand expectations
Engage in high-quality research on finance and macroeconomics with potential for collaboration with Princeton faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates. There are no teaching obligations associated with this role, and candidates are expected to participate in the intellectual life of the university.
Qualifications- Ph.D. completed or expected by September 2026; preferably within the last 2 years.
- Strong research record in finance and macroeconomics, with the ability to use empirical or theoretical methods to address policy questions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.
- Postdoctoral rank: one-year appointment with potential renewal based on performance and funding.
- Senior ranks: multi-year appointments possible.
- In-person on the Princeton campus.
