Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Opportunity

Carrier Clinic, a leader in behavioral healthcare within the Hackensack Meridian Health network, is seeking a dedicated Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for our specialized inpatient and residential programs located on a 100+ acre campus in Belle Mead, NJ. The role focuses on the evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of adolescents aged 12‑17 within a multidisciplinary, therapeutic environment designed to help young people return to their communities and thrive.

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in the adolescent inpatient unit.
• Lead ongoing care management, including admissions, discharges, and medication management.
• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for a wide range of acute psychiatric and co‑occurring disorders.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, certified alcohol and drug counselors, nurses, and educational staff to ensure integrated and comprehensive care.
• Actively participate in treatment team meetings and engage with families to provide updates, support, and education.
• Work closely with our on-site East Mountain School to coordinate academic support and ensure a seamless transition for patients.

• An innovative clinical model allowing you to focus on patient care within a collaborative practice environment.
• Eligibility for a faculty appointment at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine with opportunities for teaching and mentoring.
• A fully integrated electronic medical record system (Epic).

• M.D./D.O. degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Must hold or be eligible for a New Jersey Medical License, CDS, and DEA.

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The minimum base salary for this position is $275,000. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.

In addition to our compensation for full‑time and part‑time (20+ hours/week) positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
