Estimator, Construction, Building & Residential Construction

We are working with a General Contractor that delivers retail, warehouse, industrial, and commercial development projects across the Northeast. Due to continued growth, the team is looking to add an Estimator to support their expanding preconstruction department.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse pipeline of projects ranging from tenant fit‑outs (~$200K) to large‑scale ground‑up developments ($25M+), including retail, logistics facilities, warehouses, and data centers.

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the preconstruction and bidding process
, supporting the delivery of accurate cost estimates and helping the business secure new projects.

You will work closely with the Preconstruction team, Project Managers, and senior leadership to evaluate drawings, prepare cost analyses, and coordinate subcontractor pricing.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial, retail, and industrial construction projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify project requirements
• Complete quantity take‑offs and develop labor, material, and equipment estimates
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Perform bid leveling to ensure scope coverage and identify gaps
• Work with design teams to explore value engineering opportunities
• Support the full bid submission process and preconstruction planning
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Assist in budgeting and cost planning throughout the preconstruction phase

• Experience working as an Estimator or Preconstruction professional within a General Contractor
• Background in commercial, retail, warehouse, industrial, or mixed‑use projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and estimating processes
• Experience performing quantity take‑offs and bid leveling
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Experience with ASTA, Microsoft Project, or similar estimating tools is beneficial.
