The Federal Accounts Director role shall be responsible for the development, management, and execution of sales strategies within the Federal Government markets, specifically Veterans Administration (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) systems. This position will primarily support the Gx commercial team by reviewing, analyzing, updating and bidding ANI's products in the VA, FSS and DOD space. This position will involve frequent interaction between the Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product Management and Supply Chain teams to execute the day-to-day functions.
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the federal healthcare system and its operational protocols. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in relationship building, business planning, and cross‑functional coordination, ensuring successful engagement with both clients and federal stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day commercial operations in the Government space
- Develops and prepares bids for the various government entities including the preparation of all the submission forms.
- Work closely with CMOP’s, TMOP’s and other Government sourcing centers, promote company products to targeted VA and DoD healthcare professionals and decision-makers
- Build long‑term, value‑driven relationships with federal healthcare providers, administrators, pharmacy staff, contracting officers, and policy makers
- Understand and navigate the complexities of VA/DoD systems, formularies, procurement pathways, and contracting
- Ensure timely and compliant responses to medical inquiries and contracting discussions
- Working with the supporting wholesalers to ensure they are in stock and can support the demand
- Develops and maintains various reports; quarterly reports, monthly price/sales tracker, compliance tracker, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in a business-related function - Required
Work Experience10 years or more in Government pharmaceutical procurement Contracting, Finance, Account Management with focus on Generic Pharmaceuticals - Preferred
Skills and Abilities- Strong Microsoft Office programs with emphasis in Excel
- Ability to multi-task
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret general reports
- Strong communication both oral and written
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
The base salary range for this position is $,000; the exact salary depends on various factors such as experience, skills, education, location, competencies and industry-specific knowledge. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a competitive short term and long term incentive program based on performance and company results.
