ESCNJ District Wide Position

Payroll Clerk

Twelve (12) Month Position

Start Date: July 1, 2026
- Pending Criminal History Clearance

SCOPE

To process all payroll related transactions, employee related benefits packages

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business preferred
  • Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software including Word Perfect/MS Office Suite or equivalent programs
  • Experience in processing payroll and employee benefits packages
  • Other qualifications as the board deems appropriate
REPORTS TO

Business Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process payroll timesheets and semimonthly payroll
  • Process payroll deductions and prepare transmittals to Agency account
  • Prepare all Agency payments for approval and signature by Business Administrator
  • Provide all payroll records required to do reconciliations and bank transfers including organization of original source documents
  • Process health benefits payments in coordination with Accounts Payable
  • Deposit funds into health benefits account. Provide original source documentation for reconciliation
  • Maintain new employee and adjustment forms for taxes/pension/health benefits/voluntary deductions, etc.
  • Provide reconciliations from ADP records to voluntary deduction bills for Business Administrator's approval
  • Implementation of ADP Employee Management system
  • Provide all Payroll Agency records and schedules to the Business Administration for End of Year closing out CAFR
  • Responsible for DOENET transfer of TPAF Social Security
  • Maintain all files pertaining to staff member workman's compensation claims
  • Processing of Leave Day forms and keeping accurate employee attendance records
  • Other duties as directed by the business administrator/Board Secretary

Minimum Salary

$45,000
