Compensation Range: $125,000–$140,000 depending on experience

The Accounting Manager will lead the accounting operations for a manufacturing organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and effective management of WIP inventory. This role requires hands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory reconciliation, and leadership of accounting staff.

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, general ledger, and payroll
  • Manage WIP accounting: track production costs, reconcile inventory, and analyze variances
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff (typically 2–6 direct reports)
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and tax filings
  • Implement and improve accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with FP&A and operations teams to support budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and use tax
  • Support ERP system upgrades and process automation initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Sage, Net Suite, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
  • Experience managing WIP and physical inventory counts
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
