SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector assures product of acceptable quality is produced by performing variable and No/Go gauging of the molded product. The gauging will be performed at the start of each order and as required throughout the production run. The Quality Inspector will also work with Production on creating Hold Tags and isolating/containing all defective product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Collect molded parts and perform variable gauging at the start of an order and when required throughout a production run.
- Perform visual, aesthetic, and quantifiable inspection of product.
- Ensure the product meets or exceeds customer specifications.
- Work with Production on creating Hold Tags and isolating/containing all defective product.
- Utilizes JDE to place inventory on blocked status in audit area as required.
- Clean production gauges and quality equipment in manufacturing.
- Reviews and updates Quality Department SOP's and Work Instructions as needed.
- Transfers product internally and assists associates to do so through the use of internal product transfer forms.
- Assists production associates as needed.
- Follows applicable Food Safety, cGMP, and Safety policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED required
- Experience in manufacturing/R&D/Quality Assurance preferable
- Valid driver's license required
- Working knowledge of Quality Assurance processes & GMP preferred
- Computer application skills preferred (Word, Excel, databases)
- Must be capable of learning how to use gauges and measurement equipment as necessary
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others on projects and assigned tasks
- Strong problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills needed.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective written and oral communication skills needed.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
