Overview

Firefighter role at Securitas Security Services USA, Inc.

Responds to emergency scenes including, but not limited to, fire, medical, bomb threats, flooding, sprinkler system discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents. Arrives on scene, performs scene size-up, and relays information to central dispatch and on-duty supervisor. Provides basic rescue, fire suppression, and medical response as part of the incident command and patient care process.

• Respond to emergency scenes and perform scene size-up, relay information to central dispatch and supervisor.
• Execute rescue procedures (vehicle extrication, machinery extrication, high/low angle rescue).
• Perform fire suppression using fire apparatus, hydrants, hoses, and extinguishers.
• Respond to hazardous materials incidents and assist with spill containment.
• Respond to medical emergencies, assess and stabilize patients, and transport to onsite medical clinic when applicable.
• Relate patient care information to medical personnel and follow established protocols.
• Provide basic treatment of injuries and illnesses at the scene or in a response vehicle per protocols.
• Perform triage during mass casualty incidents.
• Provide standard security duties (unlocking doors, escorts, patrols, reporting irregularities).
• Prepare logs and reports; perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• N.F.P.A. Firefighter 1 and 2 required.
• Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Level certifications.
• National Registry or State EMT or EMR certification (with transferability to Indiana and completion within 90 days of hire for out-of-state credentials).
• Ability to meet state, county, and local EMT/EMR certification requirements.
• Physical and mental requirements including seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly; frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs; lifting up to 10–25 pounds as needed.

Base pay range: $17.00/hr (range provided by employer). Wage: $17.18 per hour, with built-in overtime included as part of the schedule.
