Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Technician (Journeyperson/Red Seal) based in our Prince George, BC branch. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required.
** JOB TYPE**:
Full-time hourly position, unionized. Field and shop work required.
** LOCATION**: 9157 Rock Island Road, Prince George, BC (on-site).
** HOURS**:
Monday through Friday, within business operating hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST (40 hour/week). Overtime will be required as needed.
** VEHICLE**: A Company service truck will be provided.
** Responsibilities:
*** Troubleshooting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment, testing machinery, and repairing and servicing the Sterling equipment fleet (mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles).
* Estimate the cost of repairs, order parts and track fleet maintenance in the Sterling Preventative Maintenance Program.
* Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work orders format.

* Qualifications:

*** Journeyperson/Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required.
* Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
* The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* A strong working knowledge of Link-Belt, Liebherr, Grove and Tadano crane manufacturers is an asset.
* Must supply own hand tools, a valid driver’s license, and possessing a valid Class 3 or 5 is considered an asset.
* The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 115 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115.
