We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada.

* 12% of Total Crew Earnings  +
* Safety Bonus (contingent on safety performance and documentation submitted)

* Spectrum Camps are remote bush camps that have a kitchen with meals provided (for a fee), dining tents, bathrooms, shower facilities, first aid rooms, drinking water and Starlink internet access.
* Potential for work that extends past the tree-planting season.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Supervise a 5- or 11-person tree planting crew under the direction of the camp supervisor.
* Conduct daily tailgate meetings, assess worksites for hazards, inspect vehicles and equipment, ensure first aid requirements are being met and document accordingly.
* Ensure PPE and equipment is available and in good working order.
* Plan production and logistics for your team before the work begins.
* Inspect your team’s work in conjunction with sample plots and document.
* Record and submit planter tallies in Plant Wizard.
* Load/unload and transport boxes of seedlings while maintaining best practices for stock handling.
* Communicate with clients and their representatives, maintain a good working relationship.
* Safely operate large trucks on resource roads and all-terrain vehicles off road.
* Lead camp set up and take down.
* Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership.
* Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
* Other duties as required.
** Experience and Knowledge Expectations:
*** Minimum of three (3) seasons of tree planting experience.
* A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License, or equivalent, and a current Driver’s Abstract.
* Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent.
* Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required for safety sensitive positions including positions with driving responsibilities.
* Tree planters are responsible for bringing their own sleeping accommodation (e.g. tent, trailer), personal items including clothing, footwear, and toiletries. Planting equipment will be available for purchase.
* Experience driving pick-up trucks pulling ball-hitch trailers and all-terrain vehicles.
* Map reading skills and competent with technology, handheld devices, and software such as Avenza Maps, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
* Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting.
* The physical ability to perform highly demanding role with the ability to carry 50+ pounds.
