Horizon Testing is looking for a strategic and technically competent Branch Manager to lead our operations in Prince George, BC, with a strong emphasis on non-destructive testing (NDT). This role will oversee branch logistics, field service deployment, supervision of NDT technicians, customer relations, and operational excellence, while applying your technical expertise and industry know-how. You will ensure the branch meets customer demands in advanced testing services (e.g., ultrasonic, radiography, eddy current, phased array) as well as conventional NDT methods.

  • Principle Responsibilities

  • Lead all branch operations, including scheduling of NDT services, project management and resource allocation

  • Deploy and coordinate qualified NDT technicians and logistics for field and on-site testing (including shutdowns, remote locations)

  • Ensure technical integrity and compliance of all NDT activities—following industry codes (API, ASME), company standards, ISO 9001 and COR safety requirements

  • Drive business development in NDT services: networking, site visits, client outreach within mining, pulp & paper, petrochemical sectors

  • Monitor and report on branch work orders, NDT job status, quotes, service metrics and budgets

  • Provide leadership, mentorship and performance management to technical staff; foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and quality

  • Engage in continuous learning and promotion of advanced NDT technologies (e.g., phased array corrosion mapping, eddy-current, near-drum ultrasonic) as used by Horizon Testing.

  • Required knowledge and training

  • A minimum of NDT certification (e.g., Level II or III in one or more methods: UT, RT, PT, MT, eddy current, phased array)

  • Preferably tertiary education (college/university) in Engineering, Business Management or related field; or equivalent experience

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an NDT or inspection services environment

  • Strong technical knowledge of NDT methods, codes, standards and industrial applications (oil & gas, mining, pulp & paper)

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/CRM is an asset)

  • Valid driver’s license with insurable record

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills—both for team leadership and client interaction
