What You Will Do

Building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous communities

Take ownership on major projects for public (federal, provincial, municipal, Indigenous government) and private sector (e.g., critical infrastructure asset owners) clients across a wide variety of industries and sectors

Development and implementation of strategies, policies, procedures and business cases

Support provincial implementation of Indigenous relations to increase collaboration and potential business opportunities with communities and Indigenous businesses.

Prepare and distribute reports and proposals

Prepare proposals for RFP submissions

Perform research, data gathering and analysis

Managing teams of KPMG advisory personnel including training and mentoring of junior staff and contributing to the overall skills enhancement and experience of the team

Assist with the development and review of engagement reports and technical project reviews

Assist in preparing strategic plans, business plans and business cases

Contribute to a dedicated team of professionals in delivering advisory services to clients

What You Bring To

The Role

7+ years of industry experience in a relevant industry, including 3+ years consulting experience (e.g., government, engineering, construction, real estate, utilities); and/or

Demonstrated skills and experience in one or more of the following

Community engagement

Infrastructure project planning, procurement or delivery

Economic and financial analysis

Leading and facilitating meetings/workshops operational and business improvement

Lifecycle asset management

Data analytics, business intelligence and GIS

Good interpersonal skills and proven capabilities of managing/mentoring and working with a multi‑disciplinary team.

Experience working directly in or with Indigenous communities in BC.

Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Culture, Governance, Treaties and Rights, Reconciliation and Indigenous History in BC and Canada

Excellent project management, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills that incorporate Indigenous knowledge and studies to meet community and client needs

Ability to work respectfully with Indigenous communities and Elders to build mutually respectful relationships and partnerships

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Skills & Qualifications

Undergraduate or graduate degree (or technical diploma) in business, architecture, engineering, finance, economics, engineering, planning, Indigenous studies / governance or similar area

Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous rights, UNDRIP, regional histories, cultural protocols as they relate to current issues in industrial and resource development and reconciliation

Experience in planning and facilitating Indigenous engagements in collaboration with First Nations and Indigenous organizations

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

A team‑oriented attitude, and ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
