Overview

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join an entrepreneurial organization focused on technical excellence without the bureaucracy of larger firms. You will have the ability to make a significant contribution to the project team as the Company pursues the disciplined development of the Blackwater Mine. Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction.

Reporting to the Technical Environmental Lead, the Summer Student – Environment is responsible for safely and effectively supporting environmental program execution.

2 Weeks on - 2 Weeks Off

4 Month Fixed Term Contract (May to August 2026)

Responsibilities
  • Participate in effective enforcement of BW Gold safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Assist with on-site environmental field programs (i.e., environmental monitoring, erosion and sediment control, surface and groundwater monitoring, sediment and sampling, wildlife surveys and monitoring etc.).
  • Participate in fish habitat compensation projects.
  • Field data management and organization, including database entry.
  • Consultant / contractor logistics and technical support.
  • Regular use of boat and off-road vehicles (e.g. snowmobiles, ATV/UTV).
  • Interact and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of environmental professionals, engineers, and contractors.
  • Ensure that BW Gold environmental commitments and Health and Safety (H&S) policies are observed in all site activities.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a technical diploma or undegraduate degree with an Environmental/Biological focus (e.g. Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Wildlife/Fish, Engineering) or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of Products, Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with off-road vehicles (e.g. snowmobiles, ATV’s/UTV’s, boats) and Occupational first aid are considered strong assets.
  • Data management, time management and organizational skills with the ability to take clear, concise and defensible field notes.
  • Safety conscious, reliable, self-starter and a team player.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates (i.e. Prince George, Vanderhoof, Fort Fraser, Burns Lake, Fort St. James, William’s Lake, Anahim Lake, Quesnel, etc.).
  • Physically able to travel and work in the field for extended periods in inclement weather.
  • Mechanical aptitude to use off-road vehicles and environmental monitoring equipment and to troubleshoot issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team.
