Position: Secondary Teacher - temporary
Assignment: General, Literacy (Gr 10-12) Indigenous Literacy and Numeracy support. Supports Indigenous students toward academic success.
Location: Correlieu Secondary School
FTE: 0.5714
Effective Dates: Commencing September 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026
Responsibilities- Provide general teaching duties for grades 10–12 with a focus on literacy and numeracy support.
- Deliver Indigenous Literacy and Numeracy support to Indigenous students to promote academic success.
- Collaborate with professional staff to support student learning and achievement.
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate and member in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch.
- Training/Specialization:
Secondary Education with a major in Literacy and Numeracy. - Related Teaching
Experience:
Recent successful experience teaching Indigenous Education. - A reasonable expectation that the teacher can perform duties effectively in collaboration with other professional staff, based on skills, abilities, professional development, and classroom experience.
- Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of local Indigenous Community. - Other:
Commitment to the School Growth Plan and School Based Team.
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. A competitive benefits package and pension are offered.
