SKI is seeking a Carpenter or Skilled Labourer for a temporary term position located in Laronge and the surround area. The role includes general carpentry duties, and scaffolding experience is considered a strong asset. The positions runs on a 10 days on/4 days off rotation, with meals and lodging provided during work shifts.
- Carry out basic construction, maintenance, or labor-related tasks.
- Understand and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and materials required.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, levels, and other carpentry-related equipment.
- Perform general carpentry tasks in support of the construction project
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Work closely with supervisors and other workers to complete tasks on time.
- Assist with general site preparation and cleanup.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in carpentry and labour-intensive roles is an asset
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or trade certification (an asset but not always required).
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to work in a remote location and adhere to a rotational schedule
- Minimum 1 year of carpentry experience
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Physical demands include lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Drug and Alcohol screening is required.
- Fall Protection Certification.
- Ladder Safety and Awarness
