Position OverviewThe Residential Leasing Agent is responsible for handling all aspects of the leasing process, including showing suites, screening applicants, preparing lease documents, maintaining accurate records, and supporting prospective and current residents. This role plays a key part in maintaining high occupancy rates and delivering an outstanding rental experience.
Key Responsibilities- Greet, engage, and assist prospective tenants; conduct property tours and answer questions about available units and community features.
- Manage all leasing inquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins.
- Process rental applications, verify documentation, perform reference checks, and make recommendations to management.
- Prepare and execute lease agreements and renewal documents.
- Maintain accurate records of available units, prospective tenant interactions, and leasing activity.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, including posting vacancies and updating listings.
- Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including scheduling inspections and preparing welcome materials.
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents.
- Collaborate with maintenance and property management teams to ensure units are ready and issues are addressed promptly.
- Follow all company policies, fair housing regulations, and applicable legislation.
- Previous leasing, customer service, or sales experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using property management software.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work weekends or evenings when required for showings or leasing events.
