Job description:
OverviewFirst Nations Insurance Group of Companies operating as First Nations Insurance Services Limited Partnership and La Roche McDonald Insurance and Property Management is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance and Payroll Administrator to join our team at our Prince Albert location. The Finance and Payroll Administrator manages key administrative functions within the finance department, with primary responsibility for payroll processing, benefits administration, and processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
The position ensures accurate financial records, timely processing, and compliance with company’s policies and applicable legislation.
- Process and manage end-to-end payroll functions accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and employment regulations
- Maintain payroll records
- Address any payroll-related inquiries from employees promptly and professionally
- Process vendor invoices and prepare and process payments.
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and apply customer payments
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Provide general administrative support as needed
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-5 year experience in similar finance, payroll or accounting support role
- Proficiency in payroll software, accounting software, and Microsoft excel is essential
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment legislation
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Collaborative team player with proactive approach to problem solving
