Responsibilities and Demands for the position include:- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Chief Power Engineer, including oversight of maintenance activities in accordance with the Quality Control Program (QCP), participation in engineering upgrades and management of change processes, and support in the operation, maintenance, and integrity of the steam system
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the Sulfuric Acid plant boiler, two Ammonium Sulphate Crystallization Plants, two Oxygen Plants and the Utility Plant (2 high pressure boilers)
- Ensure the steam and pressure systems are operated and maintained according to applicable laws and regulations
- Liaise with the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) concerning on-site boilers and pressure vessels
- Responsible for activities to ensure safe practices and environmental compliance
- Maintain standards, policies and work-instructions as per regulations and operation needs
- Responsible for meeting cost effective production targets
- Supervise, coach and monitor performance of the crew
- Responsible for required training programs for the Power Engineer trainees
- Foster communication with the different stakeholders as required
- Perform other work assignments as required

- Must possess a 1st Class Power Engineer’s certificate
- Consideration will be given to those who have a 2nd Class ticket with progress towards their 1st Class
- 5+ years of related work experience is preferred
- Previous supervision experience is considered an asset
- Previous work experience within a chemical plant, acid plant, and crystallization experience is an asset
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and with Delta-V DCS control systems
- Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with other departments and work closely and effectively with all team members

- Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
