The City of Prince Albert is currently seeking a summer student for the position of Guest Services Attendant at the Tourism Building. The position runs from early to mid May to the end of August. Average hours will be 30 hours per week. Shifts will include daytime hours as well as some evening and weekends.
The Guest Service Attendant will play a crucial role in promoting Prince Albert as a vibrant tourist destination. Your primary responsibilities will involve providing exceptional customer service at our local gift shop, showcasing the unique offerings of Prince Albert, and utilizing organizational skills to enhance the overall visitor experience.
PrincipleDuties & Responsibilities
1. Key Customer Service Duties
- Greet and assist customers at the Tourism Prince Albert gift shop.
- Provide information about local attractions, events, and services.
- Respond to customer inquiries, both in person and over the phone, with a friendly and helpful demeanour.
- Handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Act as a knowledgeable ambassador for Prince Albert, promoting its attractions, history, and cultural offerings.
- Contribute to the development and execution of promotional events and campaigns.
- Merchandise and manage the inventory of products at Tourism.
2. General Duties
- Attend to all inquiries through personal, telephone and written communication.
- Follow acts, regulations, bylaws, agreements, policies and procedures.
- Follow regulations, acts and policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required during peak tourism seasons.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Ideal candidate would be a post-secondary student.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Knowledge of Prince Albert and its attractions is a significant asset.
