If so, please read on! We are offering a competitive wage of $26-$32 per hour (depending on experience). This position also includes an extensive compensation package including weekly pay, health, vision, dental, life insurance, a 401k plan with match, and paid time off.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 50-60 hours per week (7am-6pm), and requires travel to Vernal, Price, and Moab, Utah. Per Diem is available for this role.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience operating a mini‑excavator and skid steer.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining OSHA standards and utility strike prevention.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required for project needs in Vernal, Price, and Moab.
  • A proactive, positive, and professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety.
A Day in the Life

This role facilitates the safe and efficient installation of natural gas infrastructure by coordinating closely with the installation crew and operating heavy machinery in tight residential or commercial corridors. Operators utilize a mini excavator to perform delicate trenching for gas mains and service lines while maintaining constant awareness of existing underground "foreign" utilities like electric, water, and fiber to prevent strikes.

You will also operate a skid steer to transport pipe, bedding sand, and backfill material across the job site, managing the back filling and grading process to restore the site to its original condition once the line is laid. Responsibilities include monitoring trench depths and soil stability to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and engineering specifications for gas line cover, as well as assisting the pipe‑fitter crew with "fusing" piping, applying tracer wire, and setting up pressure tests to ensure the integrity of the system.
