Group Executive: Eskom Distribution

Eskom Distribution is a critical division of Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity and the collection of revenue from millions of South Africans. Its mandate is anchored on two core pillars, commercial viability and social responsibility within a regulated business environment. Serving a diverse customer base across residential, commercial, industrial, mining, and agricultural sectors, Eskom Distribution must adapt to remain sustainable, enhance its service offerings, and stay relevant in an increasingly liberalised energy market. As Group Executive, you will provide transformational and disruptive leadership across business performance and organisational culture, ensuring reliable supply, financial sustainability and improved customer experience.

The role requires a courageous, commercially astute leader who can drive change, reposition the customer proposition and engage differently with diverse customer segments while balancing Eskom’s commercial and developmental mandate.

• Lead the legal unbundling and re-engineering of Eskom Distribution into an operational subsidiary
• Proven CEO or executive leadership experience in large, complex organisations
• Reposition Eskom Distribution’s customer proposition with a strong customer-centric focus
• Demonstrated transformational and disruptive leadership across business and culture
• Drive the modernisation, technology, system and process of ageing infrastructure and adoption of smart technologies to ensure they are future-fit
• Strong B2C leadership experience, with some B2B exposure
• Develop and execute sustainable strategies to address municipal debt and revenue challenges
• Strategic mindset with strong strategy execution capability
• Socialise and implement creative revenue-generation initiatives
• Business and commercial acumen in capital-intensive environments
• Combat electricity theft, non-technical losses and fraud
• Strong customer centricity and change management capability
• Strengthen operational efficiency, governance and cost management
• Courageous leadership with proven stakeholder management skills
• Embed a culture of execution, accountability and performance aligned to the division’s strategy
• Tech-savvy and innovative approach to operating models and service delivery

• Relevant commercial, technical or business qualification at NQF8 or equivalent
• The Group Executive:

The Group Executive:
