Position: Senior Solutions Architect ( Card & Payments)
We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect with deep expertise in payments and card systems to join a leading bank in Johannesburg. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who can design and implement end-to-end card/payment solutions while aligning with enterprise architecture principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable payments and card system solutions.
Lead architectural decisions across digital banking, card issuance, ATM/POS, and payment gateway integrations.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate strategy into technical architecture.
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, regulatory standards, and security policies.
Mentor engineering teams and influence senior stakeholders on architectural decisions.

Required

Skills & Experience:

Strong experience in card and payment systems architecture.
Familiarity with digital banking, ATMs, POS, card schemes (Visa/Mastercard), and payment gateways.
Solid understanding of core banking integrations.
Experience in hybrid environments (on-premise + cloud).
Knowledge of data governance, reporting, and analytics in a banking context.
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
Messaging & Integration:
Kafka, MQ, APIs (REST/SOAP)
Databases: SQL, No

SQL, RDBMS
CI/CD & Dev Ops tools

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Professional certifications in TOGAF, Archi Mate, or equivalent enterprise architecture frameworks (advantageous).
Relevant certifications in Payments, Cloud, or Security a plus.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Mentorship and team leadership experience.
