A vacancy exists for a Porter
, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital reporting to the Admission Supervisor
. The successful candidates will be part of a professional team that is continuously striving for the highest standards of quality in healthcare.

• Be friendly to all customers
• Transport patients from reception to wards and vice versa.
• Transport patients from wards to doctor’s rooms and smoking areas when required and a nurse should accompany them depending on diagnoses.
• Check wheelchairs for cleanliness and whether in need of repairs (maintain good working condition)
• Assist with ad-hoc duties as and when required by the Reception Supervisor during busier periods.
• Deliver correspondence to doctor’s rooms as and when required

• Grade 12
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays in accordance with the requirements of the hospital
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people and be in the frontline.
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Experience in working in customer service/dealing with customers
