Position: Registered Nurse | 2IC | T ICU
Function Nursing Facility Position Registered Nurse | 2IC | T ICU Introduction

A vacancy has arisen for a position of Registered Nurse 2ic in the T ICU Unit at Life Wilgers Hospital, situated in Pretoria. The above position reports to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of this unit and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.

Critical Outputs
  • Perform basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
  • Ensure the unit operates according to acceptable legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintain excellent patient and customer care in line with Life Healthcare standards.
  • Foster sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives, and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Assist the Unit Manager in leading the TICU team to achieve clinical excellence.
  • Support staff training to ensure clinical competence in a cardiothoracic intensive care environment.
  • Build professional relationships with doctors and therapists to enhance patient-doctor interaction.
  • Uphold Health, Safety, and Infection Control standards.
  • Assist with managing the unit’s budget, including equipment maintenance, pharmacy stock control, stock holding, gross profit margins, and debtors days.
  • Contribute to effective management of the Ward Management System and CBT.
    • Requirements
  • Must be a Registered Nurse and be registered with SANC.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Paediatric environment as well as being a seasoned midwife.
  • Competencies required:
    Strong customer orientation, team player, very energetic, well organized.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong inter-personal skills required and proven leadership abilities a pre-requisite.
  • Flexi hours - day and night shifts.
