Five-Year Contract. SANParks requires a highly motivated Chartered Accountant to provide world-class financial management services and perform statutory and other financial management and reporting functions to ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, procurement, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice, and other relevant Acts. This includes developing and implementing the funding and finance strategy and mobilising funding to sustain SANParks in the medium to long term.

• Reporting to the CEO and the Board as the CFO in terms of the PFMA.
• Developing and implementing financial management and sustainability strategies.
• Executing and managing financial controls and reporting including compilation of the Annual Financial Statements.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring the finance division business plan.
• Ensuring business efficiency and optimising commercial opportunities.
• Ensuring organisational compliance to applicable legislation, governance and associated risk.
• Providing leadership, development and management of the finance team.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders for mutual benefit.
• Overseeing and ensuring good financial management function for the organisation.
• Overseeing the development, implementation and maintenance of the supply chain processes.
• Playing a pivotal role in the functioning of the Audit and Risk Committee including internal and external audit functions.
• Providing leadership on budget planning and revenue management.
• Overseeing the financial resource mobilisation for the organisation.
• Strategic management and oversight on leases, insurance, retirement funds, assets and payroll administration and expenditure.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with Honours/Postgraduate qualification and a Chartered Accountant (SA) registered with SAICA and CASA.
• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, MBA or related discipline an advantage but not a prerequisite.
• 10 to 12 years of executive management experience in a financial environment with at least 5 years at higher/executive management level.
• Sound of relevant legislative framework and corporate governance (PFMA) and application accounting standards.
• Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and legislation (BBBEE, PPPFA).
• Knowledge of financial management with accounting skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem solving.
• Managing internal and external audits.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
• Analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Foreign qualifications evaluated by South African Qualification Authority.

• Knowledge of macro economy.
• Knowledge of conservation & tourism industry.
• Knowledge of project management.
• Knowledge of human resources management.
• Computer literacy.
