Welding Specialist

Primary purpose of the job

Ensure that customer requirements are met with regards to the quality and volume of product delivered.

• Compliance of AIAG and Customer related LASER welding norms and standards.
• Control of LASER welding seam parameters.
• Facilitate training and advise technical teams on Laser Welding techniques and equipment use.
• Control and maintain Laser equipment.
• Monitor and adhere to LASER safety standards.
• Continuously Improve Laser-processes and ensure process compliance.

• Geometric:
  Analysis and implementation of corrective actions - Robotic assembly (parameter control and analysis)

• Grade 12/NQF Level 4
• National Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Communication in electronics)
• International Welding and Fabrication inspector/technologist Diploma

• 6 Sigma Green Belt
• Tertiary qualification in TQM
• International Welding Engineer (IWE)

• Min. 2 years robotic Mig/Mag welding
• Min. 5 years manufacturing experience within the automotive environment
• Min. 5 years automation/robotics experience
• Min. 2 years laser welding experience (3)
• Min. 2 years basic metallurgy and welding-engineering/technology experience.
• Min. 2 years basic quality systems experience (6 Sigma preferred)
