Salary advertised for full time (35 hours per week). Part‑time hours will be pro‑rated accordingly.
Hourly rate: £13.48–£14.33
. Temporary until 27 September 2026. Start date 31 March 2026.

• Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery
• Preston grange Museum
• John Gray Centre Museum

• Open and close museums.
• Welcome visitors, answer enquiries and ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe visit.
• Operate shops and assist school and other groups, activities, events and exhibitions.
• Run the Visitor Centre, shop and café at Preston grange and give guided tours (training provided).
• Clean Visitor Centre and Activity Room.
• Facilitate the use of a new Volunteer Base and Activity Room (summer 2026).
• Work with volunteers and partners at each location (e.g. Dunbar and District History Society, John Muir Birthplace Charitable Trust).
• Assist in the delivery of museum services across East Lothian, maximising efficiency of service delivery within specific standards and Council policies.

• A minimum of National 4 English/Maths, Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy or SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths and/or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience.
• PVG membership required for regulated work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults. If already a member, must be updated prior to formal offer.
• Any overseas criminal record check required if worked/lived outside the UK for more than 3 months in the last 5 years.
