Residential Support Worker – Preston

£13.69 – £16.00 per hour
Day, Evening & Waking Night Shifts Available

Teacher Active is currently recruiting Residential Support Workers to work within children’s residential homes in Preston.

You will be supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs in a safe, structured and nurturing environment. The homes are part of a well-established UK provider that specialises in high-quality residential care, education and clinical support for children and young people, with a strong focus on safeguarding, positive outcomes and trauma-informed care.

The Role:

Supporting children and young people with daily routines and personal care where required

Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour

Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model

Supporting education, activities and community engagement

Maintaining accurate records and working closely with the wider care team

Ensuring a safe, stable and supportive environment at all times

Shift Patterns:

Day shifts

Evening shifts

Waking night shifts

Flexible shift availability to suit your schedule.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people in a care, support or residential setting (desirable but not essential)

A compassionate, patient and resilient approach

Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to complete training and undergo enhanced DBS checks
