Overview:
The postholder will work as part of the Corporate Governance Team, led by the Company Secretary to establish, develop and maintain arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Company Secretary in ensuring the Trust Board, Council of Governors and Foundation Trust Membership work effectively and efficiently within the constitutional framework.
  • Promote the highest standards of good corporate governance and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Lead identified projects to develop and implement good governance practice and processes across the service.
  • Provide exemplary organisational, time‑management and prioritisation skills, along with excellent communication and formal minute‑taking skills.
  • Work proactively with colleagues at all levels, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide personal assistant functions to the Trust’s non‑executive directors and cross‑cover within the governance team.
  • Provide administrative support to the Board and sub‑committees: secure room bookings, draft agendas, compile and circulate paper packs, produce accurate formal minutes, keep action plans and bring‑forward systems updated.
  • Support Board service visits programme, maintain registers (declarations of interests, hospitality), and keep the corporate governance web presence.

  • Excellent organisational, time‑management, prioritisation and efficient communication abilities.
  • Strong formal minute‑taking skills and ability to exercise initiative.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and respond to unplanned requirements in tight and challenging timescales.
